Eddie Kingston vs Mike Quackenbush - CHIKARA Grand Championship (Review)

Mike Quackenbush vs Eddie Kingston - CHIKARA Grand Championship (CHIKARA High Noon)

Easily my favourite Chikara match ever. Here we go.

Awesome to hear the "Sweet N' Sour" chants. And they lock up. Kingston gets the upper hand, but he releases. They lock up again, and Quack transitions into the hammerlock, but they release again. They lock up again, and Mike transitions into the armlock. They once again lock up, and Mike continues to go to work on the arm, but Eddie grabs him and hits a huge tree trunk slam. Quack slides to the outside, and slams the knee of Kingston on the ring. Eddie sends Quack into the turnbuckle, and clotheslines him on the apron. He goes for the suplex again, but Mike managed to slide out and once again slam the knee against the steel frame of the ring. Once again in the ring, Quack now puts a submission on the right knee of Kingston, and then drops the elbow on the knee, Eddie locks in the sleeper, but Mike gets out and goes to the knee again. Eddie goes for the armbar, but Quack gets in the stomp on the knee. Quackenbush continues to go to work on the knee. Quack now locks in the grapevine reverse ankle lock, but Eddie reaches the ropes quickly. Quackenbush pokes Eddie in the eyes, which is rather uncharacteristic. The locker room is now emptying. 3.0, Steve "The Turtle" Wiener", and Dasher. Eddie hits the Yakuza, but he can't capitalise, and Quack locks in the figure four. Kingston hits the lariat. The Bucks, The Colony, Hydra, Sara Del Rey, and The Batiri are out now, among others. Eddie goes for the backfist, but Mike hits the black hole slam. Mike now goes for the Lightning Lock, but Eddie reaches the ropes. Quackendriver 3, but Eddie kicked out at 1! Holy shit! Mike hits a double stomp to the knee. Is that Mr Fucking Zero at ringside? Lel. Mike's on the top rope, goes for the double knees, but Eddie moved, and now Kingston goes to work on the leg. Both men are now on the rope ropes and exchanging shots. Mike sends Kingston off, but Eddie hits the backfist to the future on the knee! That was dope. Kingston now locks in the Congo Clutch, and grapevines! What a match. Mike reaches the rope. And now they're trading shots, and Kingston tells Quackenbush to bring it, but Eddie hits him with the clothesline, and not one, but two backfists to the future! And there's the pin! Eddie did it! What a match. I can't fault it. You could feel the emotion. It told such a great story. Holy fuck. What a match.

I'm giving it 5 stars. Fuck it. That was incredible!

WWE - Wrestlemania XIX Review

Here we go. Greatest Wrestlemania ever in my opinion. Hasn't been topped since.

Matt Hardy vs Rey Mysterio - WWE Cruiserweight Championship

Loved this match. This was Rey in his prime, IMO. He was on fire at this point. Then again, so was Matt Hardy. Really nice back and forth action in this match. Shannon Moore at ringside was pretty good for the match, tbh. Matt was in pretty good shape. I was about to pop for that 619, but it was stopped. Holy fak, if Matt hit that Splash Mountain bomb.. damn. There isn't too much to say except that this was a nice opener. Highlight so far: Michael Cole saying "I'm still trying to get with this whole teabagging thing!". Overall, this was an enjoyable match. Loved some of the stuff Rey did. Finish was good, built up for more.

And here are the Catfight Girls. Remember them? Me neither.

Nathan Jones is shown backstage, laid out with a chair on his back. Nunzio, Big Show, and A-Traun are shown leaving the room.

Live performance from Limp Bizkit. One of my favourite bands.. and I'm not afraid to admit that. Fred Durst is the man.

Undertaker & Nathan Jones vs Big Show and The A-Train

Here comes Taker. I LOVED ABA Taker. So badass. Seeing Taker next to Durst makes you realise how huge Taker really is.

WEELLLL, WELL IT'S THE BIG SHOW!

Big Show and A-Train. A short lived team, if I remember correctly. Anyhow, here they come. The "shave your back" chants are already audible. A-Train messes around with Taker's bike. And he spits on it. Heat! And we're underway. Taker takes control at first, immediate Chokeslam. You can hear A-Train yelling "Kick his ass. Kick his ass!" numerous times. A-Train now in control. Undertaker just did a fucking leapfrog. Incredible. The Derailer is such a good name for a move. A-Train and Show now gain control. Undertaker uses a Fu-Ju-Ar armbar. That was pretty cool. Now a cross-armbreaker. Taker used a lot of moves that I forget around this time. Can I just take a second to say that Taker was in fantastic shape in 2003? Pretty impressive. A-Train yelled quite a lot in the ring. It's actually kind of funny, haha. You can hear trains in the background. Maybe there's a train station around Safeco Field? Idk. And more yelling. "Come on, big man! Come on! You ain't so bad, big dog. You ain't so bad. You ain't so bad! You ain't no big dog!". In the words of Maggle himself, "Here, comes, The Undertaker!". Big clotheslines to both men from Taker. Flying clothesline thing that Taker does. Holy shit, what a bicycle kick from A-Train! That was sick. WHAT A FUCKING SPIN KICK FROM NATHAN JONES. DAMN. Jones was huge. Big boot from Jones, tombstone from Taker! Good match. Seeing Big Evil wave that flag in the ring afterwards was awesome.

More Catfight girls. Bah gawd king, product placement! New highlight: "It's rated PG. Puppies are good!" - Jerry Lawler. And JR gives an inspirational speech to our boys and girls overseas. Top stuff.

We see a highlights package from Sunday Night Heat. Lance Storm and Chief Morley def. The Dudleyz, and Kane and RVD.

Trish Stratus vs Victoria vs Jazz - WWE Women's Championship

Trish - still the GOAT. Still the hottest. My god. <3. Sometimes I wonder if Jazz was a man. STEVIE! Is Victoria wearing Steph's gear from Summerslam? Idk. New highlight: "These two are poster children for psychiatric care. Not that there's anything wrong with that." - Jim Ross. We begin with Jazz and Trish throwing Victoria to the curb immediately. And Trish takes control. New highlight: "I wonder if this Triple Threat match could turn into a love triangle? - Jerry Lawler. And Jazz now takes control. Jazz and Vic are ganging up on Trish. Victoria now violently twitching, and a power slam from Victoria to Jazz. Stevie was in good shape around this time.. In fact, I read that Vince was impressed with his weight loss. Anyway, Victoria is in control. Big boot from Trish. Rough powerslam/bomb from Jazz. Trish makes them bang heads. Big forearms from Trish. She ducks the spinkick from Jazz, and Victoria gets hit. CHICK KICK! But, only two. Headscissors! Trish is in control. Ouch, that half Boston Crab looks nasty. And an STF now from Jazz, but Stevie throws her out. Roll up! Victoria rolls through, kick out by Trish, and a glam slam from Jazz. Lmfao, Stevie went for the chair shot but hit himself. LEG LARIAT FROM TRISH! 3! Yes! Trish wins. This is why she's the GOAT. Incredible athlete, very good wrestler, and hot as hell. The total package.

It's The Rock and Coach! Comedy gold is ahead. Rock talks about the people booing him, and says he is a sellout. He sells out every arena he's ever been in, and that he doesn't care about the people. And, here it comes.. "The jabroni beating, lalalalalow! Pie eating, not afraid to sweat, not afraid to bleed, gonna beat that bald-headed bastard, guaran-damn-teed!" Incredible.

Los Guerreros vs Team Angle vs Rhyno & Chris Benoit - WWE Tag Team Championship

Here we go. Eddie and Chavo. Two of my favourites. And here comes Benoit, looking intense as hell, like he always did. Here comes Rhyno. Looking thique as hell. Charlie and Shelton, one of my favourite teams ever. Immediately, they go after each other. Referee finally gains control, and Chavo and Charlie start it off. Nice suplex from Chavo. Big elevated dropkick, and in comes Benoit. Chavo tags Eddie, and a nice back-suplex/hilo combination. Vicious chops from Benoit. In comes Rhyno. Eddie takes control, but Rhyno takes over with a huge powerslam. In comes Benjamin. Immediately takes control. Benjamin is one heck of a wrestler. "When I was a kid, I used to cut open lizards and stuff in science class." - Taz. Big high and tight Suplex by Benoit, and he launches Guerrero and catches him in a cross-armbar! Big brainbuster from Eddie, and Charlie breaks it up. Chavo with the clothesline, and head scissors, but Benoit launches him with the triple Germans, but he holds on, and hits a fourth, but Chavo tagged Benjamin, who rocks him with a superkick. Eddie breaks up the pin, and in come Benoit. Both men knock heads. Benjamin with a body slam, and a legdrop. Pin, but Eddie breaks it up with a frog splash. Huge belly-to-belly by Haas, but Rhyno hits the gore! And another gore to Chavo! Eddie pulls out Rhyno, but Shelton sneaks in and pins Chavo, which gets the win. Really nice match. Loved it.

Catfight girls again? God damn bruh.

They say they're gonna settle their differences in bed. Jerry almost had a heart attack.

Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho

This is arguably my favourite Wrestlemania match ever. We see a promo detailing recent events. Jericho's checkered outfit looks ridiculous. New highlight: "You tried to be the hero one too many times, Shawn. You stupid son of a bitch!" - Chris Jericho.

Here we go. Jericho's gear looked dope. Michaels' entrance was awesome, love the confetti guns, even though they fucked up a couple of times. Shawn played it off well, though. Whenever I think of Chris Jericho in 2003, the first thing that comes into my head is always "The King Of Bling Bling". I find that nickname hilarious, and I have no idea why. Anyway, this crowd is firmly behind HBK. And they lock up, but break it off again not long after. They go again, and Jericho takes advantage, but Shawn gets out of it. Nice back and forth wrestling so far. And Shawn is showing off. Haha. Nice exchange of holds. Michaels sends Jericho outside, and connects with the baseball slide. Now Y2J has control. He goes for the bulldog, but Shawn sends him crotch first into the corner. Ouch. Figure four! And Jericho rolls over, but Shawn takes control, and goes for the figure four again, but Jericho kicks him shoulder first into the post. Walls Of Jericho on the outside! Damn. And Jericho sends HBK shoulder first into the ring post. Jericho's shuffling like Ali. Incredible. Really loving this match so far.. Northern lights suplex from Jericho, and Michaels rises up from his back, wow that was impressive. Bulldog from Y2J, and the Lionsault. Cover, but Shawn kicks out at 2. Walls, but Shawn makes it to the ropes. Jericho tries again, but Shawn counters with an inside cradle. Cross body from the top rope by Michaels, and he goes for the Walls himself, but instead catapults him into the ropes. Hard shot to the spine from Jericho. Back superplex from the top, but Shawn countered it into a cross body!
Michaels, now on the top, is going for something, but Jericho pushes the ref into the ropes. Jericho went for the superplex again, but Shawn pushed him off, and hit the big Elbow. He's tuning up the band! Sweet Chin Music.. But he missed, and Jericho countered it with the Walls Of Jericho! He gets out, and.. SUPERKICK! They slowly rise to their feet, and Jericho whips HBK into the corner hard. Shawn lands on his feet, however, and gets the roll up and the win. Shawn pulled it out. Holy. Fucking. Shit. what a match. That was incredible. I can't fault it. It was simply amazing. And Shawn extends the hand, and Jericho hugs him, and the low blow from Y2J.

We see Sylvain Grenier knocking on Vince's door.

And a promo for Goldberg! One of my all time favourites.

New highlight: There's a sign in the crowd that says "Saddam Has No Chance In Hell".

New attendance record. 54,097.

Another Limp Bizkit performance, this time Crack Addict. I can dig it. Great song. Right about now, it's time to get busy, 1-2-Frizzy, shut the fuck up!

Miller Lite Catfight Girls vs Torrie Wilson and Stacy Kiebler

Catfight on a bed. Jonathan Coachman in his underwear. Enough said.

We see a promo for the next match, Booker T vs Triple H for the World Title.

Booker T vs Triple H - World Heavyweight Championship

I really do respect Booker T. Yes, he did do something wrong, but he payed for it and put it behind him, and now look at him. Anyway. Here we go.

IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAYYYYEEEEEMMMMMEEEEEE!

Triple H, purple tights and all, is making his way to the ring with Ric Flair. I like this match quite a lot, too.

CAN YOU DIG IT, SUCKA?!

Yes, yes I can. Here comes Bookeh. I love his theme. Triple H was in pretty good shape in 03. Booker: "Yo punk ass in trouble." New highlight: "You heard Triple H, JR, that place was a joke." "Yeah, how long did you work there, King?" "Never, did you?" "Yes, I did." "Was it a joke?" "Absolutely." And they lock up. Booker gains the upper hand at first. HHH goes to the top, but Book brings him down with an arm drag. Trips now gains the upper hand. Heel Jerry on commentary was great. Now Booker is in control with the strikes. He shoots himself into the ropes, but HHH drops him with the spinebuster, and sends him into the corner. Holy shit, what a clothesline that was. Big time DDT from Booker. And they now exchange rights. New highlight: "Me and Booker T went to the mall yesterday. He tried to pay for everything in cigarettes." - Jerry Lawler. Sleeper from Triple H, but Booker sends him into the top turnbuckle, and into the ropes, but Triple H hits the high knee. Now the spinebuster from Booker, but a kick out at 2 by HHH. Booker rolls to the outside, but Ric sends him knee first into the ring steps. Indian Deathlock by Triple H! One of my favourite moves. Booker tried to fight back, but HHH rolls over onto his front, causing more pain to Booker. Sunset flip by Booker, but a kick out at 2 by HHH. Triple H goes for the Pedigree, Booker counters, but Triple H sends him into the ropes. Book comes back immediately with the roll up, but The Game kicks out. Book hits the Scissors Kick! He gets the arm over, but Triple H just barely kicks out. Book goes to the top, but he's met by Triple H. Booker still throws him off. LEG DROP! There's that train again. Booker hurt his leg there. Cover! Foot on the ropes. Pedigree! And the win for HHH. In comes Flair, who's ecstatic. Triple H makes it to his feet outside, but falls straight back down. Flair walks him away.

Vince McMahon vs Hulk Hogan - Street Fight

There's the promo. I couldn't be more hyped to see this again.

Huge pop for Hogan, great theme too. Loving the "Vince Still Sucks" sign.

Lmao at Vince's anime titantron. This crowd hates him.

Vince slaps Hogan, and we're underway. Strikes from Hulk, and the clothesline. Hogan's choking Vince out. Vince now had control with the knuckle lock. Hogan gets to his feet, but McMahon kicks him in the gut. Hogan goes to the outside, and McMahon clubs away at his back, and now mocks him. Vince with a chair shot, but Hogan ducks, and sends Vince into the post. Hogan, now with the chair, clobbers Vince. Vince is busted wide open. Vince now in control, and he has a ladder. He sets Hogan up on the table, and climbs the ladder. ...holy shit. He's doing the ear call.. LEG DROP THROUGH THE TABLE! That was sick. Vince gets back up, and throws Hulk into the ring. Vince for the cover, but a kick out by Hogan. Another cover, and a kick out again. Vince is huge af here. New highlight: Vince's creepy face as he rose from the floor to his feet when he got the steel pipe. Heeeere's Vince! Low blow from Hogan! Roddy fucking Piper? No way?! He's in the ring, and kicks Vince in the ass, twice. He looks at the pipe, and he grabs it. Spits on Vince, and hits Hogan?! Dafuq? Ok. And he's leaving. Guess he sided with Vince. Vince crawls slowly to the cover, but Hogan kicks out at 2 and 3/4. Vince now attacks Brian Hebner for checking on Hogan. Poor guy. Vince is calling for someone. Here comes Sylvain Grenier, but he's stopped by Mike Sparks, however, he gets dropped by Grenier. Pipe shot to Hogan and a leg drop from Vince, but a kick out.. And there's the finger! Hulk is psyching up! YOUUUUUU! Shots from Vince, but Hogan blocks, and drops both men! More right hands, big boot! HERE IT COMES! LEG DROP! BROTHER! Another! And a third! 3! Hogan gets the win! What a fucking match! That was great. So bloody, so good. Very impressed with that one. Here comes Shane. All he did was check on his dad.

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Rock

Too hyped for this match. Easily one of my favourites of all time.

Promo is shown.

Here comes Rocky. Love Hollywood Rock's theme. Pretty huge pop.
The Rock in 2015 compared to The Rock in 2003 is pretty insane. Only The Rock could make The Rock look skinny.

And the glass shatters! Here comes Austin. Huge pop for Steve. I love his no-nonsense entrance. And they face off. And they immediately start hitting each other, and Austin goes for the Stunner, but Rocky gets out and runs away up the ramp. Austin catches him, and drops him chin first across the guard rail, then sends him over the announce table. Rock gets sent straight into the steel steps. Austin, still in control, chokes Rock on the ropes, until Hebner distracts him, and Rocky hits the chop block. Austin rolls to the outside, but Rock chop blocks him again. Rock is now going to work on the knee of Austin. Rock locks in the figure four. Austin fights and crawls and finally reached the ropes. Rock immediately goes back to works on the knees. Rock now puts on Austin's vest. Lel. New highlight: *Rock grabs some water* "King, is that Hollywood water?" "Probably". Austin strikes, both men run into the ropes, and hit each other with a double clothesline. Austin rises to his feet first, and rains down the punches. Austin hits the middle finger elbow, but only gets a 2 count. Austin now begins to beat down Rocky. Austin hit the Rock Bottom! But only 2. Austin goes for the stunner, but Rock blocks it, flips him off, and hits the Stunner on Austin! Austin kicks out at 2 and a 1/2. Rock punches, hits some, but misses, and pays for it, because Austin stuns him. He pins Rock, but he kicks out. Steve pushes away Hebner, but Rock hits a low blow. Austin's best is ripped at the sides now. Here comes The People's Elbow, but Austin moves and goes for the Stunner, but Rock gets out, hits him with a spinebuster, and hits The People's Elbow, but still, Austin kicks out. Rock's going for another Rock bottom, and he hits it, but Austin kicks out at 2 and 1/16. Rock is getting frustrated, and gets rest for another Rock Bottom. Austin is slowly rising to his feet, and he gets out of the Rock Bottom attempt, but Rock catches him and hits it again. Once again a cover, but Austin kicked out again. Rock is getting mad. He calls for one more Rock Bottom, and he hits it for the third time. Damn, that was heavy. 1, 2, 3. He did it! Ricky finally finished off the Rattlesnake at Mania. What a fucking match! That was insane. It took 3 Rock Bottom's, but... Finally, The Rock did it.

Kurt Angle vs Brock Lesnar - Undisputed WWE Championship

Here we go. One of my favourite matches in Mania history. Promo is shown, and here we go.
There's a "WrestlingFigures.Com" sign behind Cole and Taz at Mania 19. I wonder who that was?

Angle, the champion, is coming out first. Strange. Anyway, the "You Suck" chants are already running rampant. Angle looks ready. I just noticed how fucking huge that ramp is. Jesus.

Welp, Here Comes The Pain. Brock makes his way to the ring, ribs taped and all, looking as focused as ever.

They face off, and they lock up. Brock makes Angle look minuscule. They push each other off into the corners of the ring, and break off the lock. They lock up again, Kurt takes the upper hand, and they begin to chain wrestle back and forth. Lesnar now takes control, but Angle just him with a knee to the gut, and goes to work on the injured ribs. He runs into the ropes, but Brock hits him with an elbow and begins to dominate him. Brock pulls off a powerslam, but Kurt kicks out. Angle pulls off a huge German, but Lesnar gets right back off and clotheslines him. Lesnar lifts up Angle, and drops him with a press slam. They get to the outside, and Angle drives Brock into the barricade. Ouch. Angle hits another German and goes for the pin, but Lesnar kicks out. Kurt hits another suplex and pin combination, but Brock kicks out. Kurt now locks in the Bow & Arrow. Brock rises to his feet, but Angle holds on. Lesnar sends him into the corner twice, and it breaks the hold. Angle however takes control again, and hits another suplex. Angle goes for him again, but Brock drops him with a spinebuster. Angle however takes control again, and locks in a single leg Boston Crab. Angle hits another high knee to the back, and charges at Brock, but Lesnar flips Kurt over the ropes and to the outside. Angle gets back in hits a huge German that turns Lesnar inside out. And the straps come down. Angle slam! But only 2. Brock gets up and hits the F5! Cover! Angle kicked out a millisecond before 3! Damn. Brock tries to pick Angle up again, but Kurt grabs him in the Ankle Lock and grapevines him in the center of the ring, but he gets to the ropes. Angle goes for the lock again, but Brock kicks him off. Both men get to their feet, and Lesnar goes for the F5, but Kurt rolls through with the small package. They get up, Angle Slam attempt fails, but Brock nails the F5! Oh my.. Lesnar looks at the turnbuckle.. HOLY FUCKING SHIT! That SSP botch makes me cringe everytime. No wonder Brock broke his neck. Cover, but Angle kicks out. Lesnar gets up, F5, pin, and the win! Brock did it! Brock won the title! That SSP was fucking unreal. What a great match. Easily in my top 5.

Overall:

I cannot fault this Mania. Legit, every match was great. From start to finish, I was on the edge of my seat. MOTN for me goes to the main event, but any of these matches could have easily been MOTN. Greatest Wrestlemania yet.

Davey Richards Vs. Kyle O' Reilly - PWG - Is Your Body Ready? Review

This was a very nice match, I must say. Funny at times, too. Best spots of the match for me were the kicks on the chairs, Muta Lock into the pin, and Davey's back heel kick. Throughout the match we saw Davey and Kyle constantly rotating their hips, a reference to their match at All Star Weekend where they both teamed with Joey Ryan in "Team Statutory". Another funny spot was when Davey had a Cloverleaf locked in, and he spanked Kyle. The fans were really into this match, made evident by the "Sleazy Kyle" and "Sleazy Davey" chants. The kicks in this match were very nice. These two men mainly use kicks instead of punches, and it was really fun to see. There was a very nice exchange in the middle of the match which involved a flying forearm from Kyle, a kick to the chest by Davey, a German by Kyle, and then a double footstomp from Davey. Highlight of the match for me was Kyle going for the leg sweep, but Davey caught him with a kick to the top of the head. Back and forth was extremely good. Kyle's Regalplex was awesome. Eventually, the fans started calling Kyle "Autoparts", and we even got an "O-O-O-O' Reilly!" chant in the middle. The finish of this match was really satisfying, too. Davey ended up tapping out to an O'Reilly armbar after an impressive sequence from Kyle, which featured a rising knee, forearm smash, tornado DDT, and a brainbuster. We also saw Davey give Kyle his seal of approval afterwards. Great match.

WWE Unforgiven 2005 Review

WWE Unforgiven 2005 Review

Here we go with Unforgiven 2005. I haven't seen this show in full yet. I tried to watch it late one night, but I fell asleep. Anyways, on with the review.

Ah, classic RA era WWE Intro. How I love and miss you.

We open with a promo for the evening. Kurt Angle attacks John Cena, and tells Cena he's the most "vicious son of a bitch in the WWE". They both demean each other and set up the match well, and we move on to the show itself.

Ric Flair Vs. Carlito - Intercontinental Title

Here we go with this match. Ric is looking pretty good going into this. JR, King, and The Coach are on commentary. Great Trio. Anyways, here comes Carlito, apple and all. A flashback of Carlito spitting apple at Ric is shown, and Flair retaliates. Back to the show itself. Ric Flair looks like he has Elite articulation. And they go for the lock up, but Flair struts off. Immediately, Ric puts him into a side headlock, but Carlito counters. They go on with some holds and grapples for a while, until Carlito knocks him down, and mocks Flair by strutting. Highlight so far: Jerry saying Carlito "has hair like a Brillo pad". And they go for the Greco-Roman knuckle lock, but Carlito hits a reverse elbow. My god. Flair might have just hit the loudest chip I've ever heard. They lock up again, until Carlito turns to some strikes in the corner. Flair, typically, pokes Carlito in the eye, but gets a clotheslined or his troubles. Carlito gains the upper hand, and begins to go to work, until Ric catches him with a chop again. Carlito sends him to the outside. Enjoyable match so far. Carlito has the upper hand again. Right now, it looks like he's going to work on Flair's shoulder. Carlito still has the upper hand, and is still working on Ric's shoulder. The fans are really behind Flair. He hits some chops, but Carlito throws him down and starts grounding and pounding on Flair. These "Let's Go Flair!" chants are really loud. Carlito is firmly in control right now. Carlito was pretty good in the ring. Shame WWE sort of gave up on him. Flair's back, and he starts dominating Carlito. Ric just came off the top rope successfully. Wow. These fans loved it. He goes again, but Carlito rocked him with a dropkick in mid-air. Near fall. Carlito had a six pack for a while until he became skinny fat. Flair locks in the figure four, and Carlito taps. Naitch wins! Impressive to see him go at that age. I believe he was about  58 when he won the belt here. Then again, I don't know for sure. Flair's got a mic. He thanks the fans and says he's honoured to be champ at this stage in his career. He's making out with the belt. Oklahama love him. He jumps the barricade, and kisses some women. He takes them over the rail. Carlito is approached by Todd Grisham, but he refuses. Ric has 3 women with him. What a pimp. And a fourth! What a mackdaddy. Good match.

Edge and Lita backstage

Edge and Lita are backstage, talking about their affair, and how they lied to Matt. Lita straddles Edge, and says she "wants to make him happy". Kinky.

Torrie Wilson and Victoria W/ Candice Michelle Vs. Trish Stratus and Ashley Massaro

Can I just take a moment to say that no diva to come into WWE has been hotter than Trish? Good god, what a woman. Anyhow, this match should be pretty good for a Diva's match. Victoria has had knee problems for years. Poor girl. They lock up, and Trish hits the head scissors. She hits a Lou Press and rains down the punches. Chop to the titty. Ouch. There's the tag, and here comes Ashley. She still has her hat on, somehow. Impressive. She was a pretty good wrestler, in all honesty. I'm kind of confused, was Torrie a heel in 2005? Anyways, Ashley just took a hard bump to the outside.  Landed right on her chin. And Victoria gains the upper hand. Ashley fights out, but Victoria sends her down again. Torrie starts to kick Ashley, and throws into the mat, face first. Ouch, knee brace to the face. Just gonna say again - Trish looks amazing. Hottest diva ever, easily. She gets the tag, but the ref didn't see it, and Victoria hits Ashley with a snap suplex. Ashley pushes Victoria while she's on the top rope, tags Trish, and in she comes. She hurricanrana's Victoria, punches Torrie, and hits Victoria with a headscissor. Spine buster by Stratus. Candice destructs the ref, but Ashley pushes her face first into the apron. Chick Kick! And Trish gets the win. Good match for what it was. Trish looked strong. And hot. Heh. Ric Flair is taking Viagra backstage. Incredible.

The Big Show Vs. Gene Snitsky

Show was pretty over here. He was also at his largest, too. I'm surprised he could wrestler here in this condition. Anyway, he's hanging with ZZ Top. Here comes Snitsky. One of my favourites from this time. I thought he was awesome as a heel. Anyway, Big Show instantly takes him out. Hip toss by Show. Big Show's toying with Snitsky like he's a child. And Snitsky is 300lbs. Snitsky tries to leave, but Show catches him. Snitsky hasn't gotten one successful hit on Show in this match. "Shhhh!" What chops from Show. Gene's chest is bright red. Snitsky now gains the upper hand. Now we see a recap of Snitsky hitting Show with the ring bell from 3 weeks ago. We didn't get to see it before because Show attacked him before it finished. Anyway, Big Show went for the Chokeslam, but Snitsky countered it. He just back suplexed Big Show. Impressive. He yelled like he was shot, though. Big boot from Snitsky takes down Show. Near-fall, but Show kicks out. New highlight: King saying "Snidky has a face only a plastic surgeon could love." Spine-buster from Show. Big Show just did a kip up. My god. That was incredible. Chokeslam, and we are done here. Decent match. I enjoyed it. Big Show was so big here. Damn. Now Show has the ring bell. I guess this is payback for what Snitsky did 3 weeks prior. Big Show wrecked him.

Shawn Michaels Vs. Chris Masters Promo

Honestly, I think Masters might have had a run with the World Title in 06, had he not got suspended and subsequently released. He was being pushed pretty hard in 2005. Promo shows how Chris' Masterlock has never been broken. Chris talks about how Shawn should move over, and challenges him to a match. It shows the recent events leading up to this match.

Kerwin White Vs. Shelton Benjamin

I wasn't really a fan of this gimmick. I thought it was pretty offensive. Okay, I'm kidding, I thought it was hilarious. Chavo pretending to be a middle-class white guy was pretty funny. Shelton was so great. I love that guy. So talented. Yep, Kerwin has the Lacoste logo on his shoes. Benjamin hits Kerwin before the bell rings, and here they go. Shelton gains the upper hand. Shelton is soooooo good in the ring. Seriously a great competitor. Kerwin now takes over. I dig Chavo in the ring. This match should be good. I remember when Chavo debuted this gimmick he said "If it ain't White, it ain't right", but he was made to change it to "If it ain't Kerwin White, it ain't right". That was probably a wise decision. Amazing headscissor by Ch-.. Kerwin, right there. Chavo gains the upper hand, and hits a monkey flip, but Benjamin lands on his feet. That was awesome. I think he hurt his knee, though. Yep. He's limping. Clothesline by Shelton. Drops Kerwin with the inverted back breaker. Two underrated guys going at it here. Chavo looks ridiculous with blonde hair, I must say. Shelton goes to the top, but Kerwin stops him and throws him off with an incredibly high superplex. Near fall. Single leg crab by Kerwin. He pulls Shelton away from the ropes, but Benjamin fights out, and catapults him into the corner. Kerwin grabs the golf club, but Shelton catches him with the T-Bone. What a wrestler. Great match. Shelton and Chavo had pretty good chemistry. We're now backstage with Matt Hardy. He says Lita is a bitch, and that he's going to make sure Edge doesn't wal away from the match.

Edge Vs. Matt Hardy - Steel Cage Match

Here we go with what should be a brutal match. Edge comes out, and he looks focused. Here comes Matt. Lita looks hella good, but anyway. Matt was in good shape in 05. Then again, this was before he became "Fatt Lardy". Edge is pulling a smile, but Matt looks pissed. They lock up, and start to brawl. Edge gains the upper hand. Matt rocks edge with a right to the chin, and again. He sends Edge into the corner, but he uses the momentum to try and climb over. Matt catches him, and starts to headbutt him until he falls back down. Edge tries to get the door open, but Matt drags him back in. Matt now has the headlock on Edge. Edge's gear in 2005 looked so sweet. Hardy still has the headlock. Edge pulls Hardy's mouth, and Matt relinquishes the hold. Edge starts punching Matt, and he now tries to escape, but he's stopped by Hardy. Matt hits a flying clothesline, and the fans love it. Goes for the Twist-O, but Edge throws him into the wall. Near fall and Matt kicks out. Now they're both in top of the cage looking for the escape. Matt brings Edge into the top rope, goes for the side-effect off the top, but Edge rams the back of his head into the cage. Edge now hits a missile-dropkick from the top, and hit Matt in the back of the head. Now with the elbows to the back of the head. Looks like he's trying to affect his head and give him a concussion. Probably because of the head injury he caused Hardy at Summerslam. Lita is looking in approval of her man. Edge is still going to work on the back of Matt's head, and he hits a boot to the side of it. Matt looks dazed and confused. Edge now drops him with the DDT, and goes for the cover, but Matt kicks out. Ouch. Edge just powerbombed Hardy into the wall. Edge was skinny fat in 05. As he was most of the time between 2004-2011. He was surprisingly ripped earlier in his career. Edge hits the boots to Matt's head and rocks him. He lifts him onto the top rope, and goes for the back suplex, but Matt fights out. He tries to climb up, but Edge grabs him and drops him with a huge powerbomb. Good grief, that looked rough. Edge crawls to the cover, but Matt manages to barely kick out. Hardy probably had some whiplash after that. Edge goes for the door, but Matt has his hands around Edge's ankle. Edge goes for the punch, but Hardy counters by biting him. Edge goes for the spear, but Matt sends him into the corner, and hits the side-effect. Edge is trying to climb out, but Matt has him. Lita passes him the briefcase, but Edge misses, and Hardy traps him in the ropes. The ref let's him out, and Hardy catapults Edge into the cage. He hits a bulldog on the briefcase, and sends Edge into the walls multiple times. Lita is now climbing the cage. I wouldn't do that if I were you, honey. Matt sends her back down, and now we see Edge is busted open. Edge is bleeding profusely. Now Hardy goes to work on Edge's head with repeated kicks. Lita checks on Edge, but he's out. Matt grabs the briefcase and tries to climb out, but Edge pushes the ref into the ropes and Matt falls in-between the ropes and the cage. Edge spears him and tries to escape, but he's met by Matt, who hits him with the side-effect. "Jezebel", as JR called her, grabs a chair, but the refs pulls it away from her. She gets in the cage anyway and breaks up the pin. She distracts Matt, but he hits her with the Twist Of Fate, but he's drilled with a spear with by Edge. Somehow, Matt kicked out. The fans are firmly behind Hardy. Edge is trying to escape, but Matt tries too. Kmart drives Edge's head into the steel, and throws him off. Matt is now on top of the cage, and looks down on Edge. He strikes the trademark Hardy Boyz pose, and jumps off with a huge legdrop, which gets him the win. Matt wins. What a match! That was awesome. These two took each other to hell. That was incredible. Amazing match. We see Edge's lifeless body next to Lita in the ring, as we fade away to John Cena i the trainers room with Eric Bischoff. Eric talks about how Cena is "gonna need a lot more tape than that after tonight" and how Kurt Angle is going to destroy him. Cena then puts some of the tape over Bischoff's mouth. Haha. That was pretty funny. We now see Edge crawling up the ramp. He somehow makes it to his feet, but falls down again.

Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch Vs. The Hurricane and Rosey

Well, this should be a pretty good tag match. The Good Ol' Boys Vs. The Superheroes. Murdoch was one ugly guy, I must say. Anyhow, STAND BACK! Here comes Rosey and The Hurricane. Hurricane's blue gear looks awesome. New highlight: King saying "Rosey's blood type is Ragu". I just noticed Trevor Murdoch looks kind of like Joe Gacy. Anyhow, they lock up. Cade takes the advantage, and talks some smack to Rosey and The Hurricane. Hurricane jumps over Cade, then ducks under Cade, then strikes his pose and yells "Was' Up Wit Dat?" which surprises Cade. He makes the tag to Murdoch, who at first has the advantage, but gets struck with an elbow from Hurricane. Rosey is tagged in and throws his body on top of Murdoch. Rosey headbutts Murdoch, and he falls into the corner. Rosey then hits the running ass-splash, which seems to be a trademark for Samoan wrestlers. Murdoch then tries to get a kiss from Lillian, but Hurricane pushes him away and checks on Lillian, which costs him, as Trev' sets him up on the apron and sells him with a DDT to the floor. Rosey now takes control, and goes for the big splash on Cade in the corner, but Murdoch pulls him away. Doctors are coming down for Hurricane. That bump did look nasty. Rosey rolls to the outside, but he's met by Cade who hits him with some strikes and sends him back in. Murdoch goes for the pin, but to no avail, as Rosey kicks out. I guess Rosey's left on his own now. Rosey is hit with a double clothesline on the two, and Hurricane sees it on the titantron and runs down and tags himself in. He his some strikes, but Murdoch and Cade hit him with a clothesline-chop block combo, and they get the win, and we have new world tag team champions. We now see Ric Flair's limo. A woman steps out wearing his robe, and he yells "Space Mountain! Woo!" We now see Maria with Chris Masters. She asks him why everyone calls him "The Masterbate". I got a good chuckle out of that. Then Masters says "the heartbreak kid is finally gonna get broken". We now see his entrance. Masters is striking his poses at the top of the ramp. What a man. Ripped as hell. The fans however, don't approve. His blond highlights suck, though. Here comes Shawn. I gotta say this right now: I'm a huge Michaels fan. The fans love him here, too. He's kneeling on a carpet. Fun fact: They had to do that because his crazy gear kept getting caught in the ramp. True story. Shawn strikes his pose, but Masters comes up behind him and locks in the Masterlock before the bell rings. He now goes for the cheap shots, but Referee Jack Doane tries to stop him. Chris goes for the Masterlock again, but Shawn wiggles out. He tries the offence, but Chris throws him into the corner. Clothesline by Michaels that sends The Masterpiece over the top. Shawn hits the cross body over the top, and starts punching Chris in the head. He now hits the chops, and sends Masters into the steps. Michaels is still chopping away at Chris's chest. He now grabs the chair, but the ref stops him, and Masters gets the cheap shot and the upper hand. Masters grabs Shawn, and powerbombs him into the post twice. Looks like Masters is going to work on the back. I gotta say it again - Masters's dye job looks awful. Rene Dupree did the same thing in 2005 and it looked just as bad. Seriously. Awful look. Anyhow, back to the match. Masters still has control, and hits Shawn with a Backbreaker. Masters now has the Backbreaker submission in on Shawn. I'm not sure what to call this. For lack of a better term, let's call it a modified torture rack. Shawn now however, is fighting back. He runs into the ropes, and goes for the crucifix, but Masters catches him, and tries for the Masterlock, but Shawn again gets free, but Masters now picks him up and puts him into an actual torture rack. Masters was such a specimen. Damn. It's not over, though, as Shawn begins clubbing Masters in the head, and he goes for the Sunset Flip, but Masters kicks out, and wrecks Shawn with a lariat. Masters is bleeding from the nose, but he grabs Shawn, and throws him back down with a Military Press. He's now signalling for the Masterlock, but he hasn't got it locked in. Shawn grabs the ref, and hits a mule kick on Masters that drops him to the ground.  Both men are down as the ref begins the ten count. They begin exchanging blows, until Shawn flies off the ropes with a forearm. He nips up, and hits the classic HBK combo of Inverted Atomic Drop, Clothesline, and Big Elbow. Shawn starts to tune up the band, and goes for the kick, but Masters ducks, and locks in the Masterlock. He's got Shawn trapped. Michaels is trying to get free, but to no avail. The fans are cheering for Shawn, but he's fading away. Shawn manages however to jump over the top rope, and onto the apron, forcing Masters to break the hold. Masters berates the ref, and goes over to Shawn, but HBK pulls him throat first over the top rope. Shawn slowly rises to his feet, and begins to scale the top rope, but he's caught be Masters, and tries for the Masterlock, but Shawn gets out, and ends it with Sweet Chin Music. Another awesome match. Shawn fought hard, and it paid off with the win. Really good match.

Kurt Angle Vs. John Cena - WWE Championship

Kurt Angle takes on John Cena here. These two should put on a good match. But first, we're back at Ric Flair's link, where the girls are leaving, and his ass is fully exposed. That's not exactly something I wanted to see. He tries to woo, but he flops straight to the floor. Classic. Anyhow, Kurt Angle Vs. John Cena. We see a promo featuring Y2J Vs. John Cena in a "You're Fired!" match from the RAW after Summerslam. Cena beat Jericho, but after the match, Angle came in and destroyed him. We now see the events that lead up, and they begin their entrances. Cena is insanely over. Angle wasn't, then again, he is a heel. New highlight: JR calling Coach "stupid". Anyway, they lock up, and Angle gets the upper hand, but he's met with punches from Cena, which causes Kurt to retreat to the outside. Angle now has the hammerlock in on Cena. Cena now takes over with the headlock, however. Angle once again retreats to the outside. Strong chants of "Angle Sucks!" can be heard throughout the arena. Kurt now rolls back in, and goes to work on Cena. John however body slams Angle, and gains the upper hand himself. Cena hits the side slam, but Angle gets up and hits the German, throwing Cena right on his head. Angle now has the upper hand, and traps Cena in the body scissors. Angle looked really tanned in 2005-mid 2009. He got considerably paler in late 2009 in TNA. I wonder if he fake tanned? Anyhow, Cena is to his feet, and he hits Angle with a DDT. Both men are down, they use the ropes to make it to their feet, and begin exchanging rights. Cena now scores with the clotheslines, and hits the shoulder blocks. He then pulls off a suplex, but Kurt kicks out. He picks Angle up for FU, but he rolls through into the ankle lock. Cena gets out, rises to his feet, and delivers a spinebuster to Kurt. Cena again goes for the FU, but Angle counters and hits the Angle Slam. He goes for the pin, but Cena kicks out. Angle gets up, yells and goes for the ankle lock, but Cena counters and hits a sit-down slam, and goes for the Five-Knuckle Shuffle, but Angle gets the kick out. Angle gets up in the corner, but Cena goes over and tries the Irish whip, Kurt counters and goes for the clothesline, but Cena ducks, and Angle hits the ref. Cena goes for the FU, and hits it, but with no ref, and his a low blow, grabs the medal, and hits Cena in the head with it. He hits a  knee drop on the ankle, pulls the straps down, and locks in the ankle lock. Bischoff comes down and gets in Cena's face, screaming "Say Goodbye!" whilst holding the title. Cena makes it to the ropes, but Bischoff kicks his hands and Angle pulls him away. Cena rolls out of the ankle lock, and sends Kurt flying into the ref. He the hits Kurt with the belt, but the ref saw it, and Kurt wins via DQ. However, Bischoff grabs the mic, and says that Cena cannot leave with belt. Cena then picks up Bischoff, and hits him with the FU, but he's attacked by Angke afterwards, and Angle is unrelenting. He takes Cena over to the Spanish announce table, and sets it up for something. Cena is down and out, and Angle goes for the  Angle Slam, but Cena counters it, and FU's him right through the table. Angle, bleeding from the mouth, is now down and out. Cena's music hits for the second time, and he celebrates in the ring. With both Angle and Bischoff out, Cena is left standing tall. Great match. Ending however, was a little confusing.

All in all, this was a solid show. Every match delivered, and I was happy with all the outcomes. Main event was a little confusing towards the end, but that didn't take away from the match itself. Very enjoyable show. Match of the night, for me, has to go to Hardy Vs. Edge. Sheer brutality.

Tune in next month, when I review No Mercy 2003! Only at this very blog!
